Model "402" Indian 4 Metal Sign

This 16"x12.5" metal sign captures the image of the four cylinder beauty, the model 402 Indian 4. The Indian Motorcycle Company's four cylinder machine came about in 1928 after they bought the Ace Motor Corporation the previous year, which was founded by the Henderson brothers in 1922 after they left Schwinn own Excelsior Motor Manufacturing & Supply Company in 1919. The Henderson brothers previous founded Henderson Motorcycle Co. in 1912 before selling it to Ignaz Schwinn in 1917 due to a sudden sales drop occurred due to the out break of World War I. The Indian 4 line was produced from 1928-1942.
